Terms of Use

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of StudyCheetah, including our website, mobile applications, study tools, generated materials, and related services (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be able to form a binding agreement under the laws that apply to you. StudyCheetah is not directed to children under 16. You are responsible for the accuracy of the account information you provide and for keeping your login credentials secure. You must notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.

2. The Service

StudyCheetah helps students turn course materials into study resources such as notes, flashcards, quizzes, mock exams, summaries, and related study tools. Features may change over time as we improve the product. We may add, modify, limit, suspend, or discontinue features where needed to operate, secure, or improve the Service.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of the materials you upload or enter into StudyCheetah, including documents, links, notes, prompts, messages, and other content ("User Content"). You grant us a limited license to host, store, process, transmit, display, and create study outputs from your User Content solely to provide, maintain, protect, and improve the Service.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the rights needed to upload and use your User Content. Do not upload content that violates laws, intellectual property rights, privacy rights, academic rules, or these Terms.

4. AI-generated study materials

StudyCheetah uses artificial intelligence and other automated processing to generate study materials. AI output can be inaccurate, incomplete, or unsuitable for a particular course, exam, or academic requirement. You are responsible for reviewing outputs before relying on them. The Service is a study aid and does not guarantee grades, exam outcomes, or academic performance.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or abusive purposes.
• Upload malware, attempt to disrupt the Service, or bypass security controls.
• Reverse engineer, scrape, copy, or misuse the Service except as allowed by law.
• Use the Service to infringe third-party rights or violate academic integrity policies.
• Share your account or use another person's account without permission.

6. Subscriptions and billing

StudyCheetah may offer free and paid plans. Paid plans can provide access to premium features, higher usage limits, or other benefits described at the time of purchase.

Purchases made on the web may be processed by Stripe. Purchases made in the iOS app are processed through Apple's In-App Purchase system and may be managed through Apple or RevenueCat-powered subscription management flows. Subscription prices, billing periods, renewal terms, trial eligibility, and included features are shown before purchase.

Auto-renewable subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel an iOS subscription through your Apple ID subscription settings. For web subscriptions, you can manage billing through the billing portal where available or by contacting support. Refunds for Apple purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's policies. Refunds for web purchases are handled according to applicable law and payment processor rules.

7. Account deletion

You can request or initiate account deletion from within the Service where available. Deleting your account permanently removes your account and associated study data from active systems, subject to legal, security, billing, and backup retention requirements. Deleting your StudyCheetah account does not automatically cancel an active Apple subscription; Apple subscriptions must be managed through your Apple ID.

8. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share personal data. By using the Service, you acknowledge that we process personal data as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Intellectual property

StudyCheetah, including our software, design, branding, logos, and product features, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not give you ownership of the Service or our intellectual property.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or that generated content will be accurate or complete.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, StudyCheetah and its affiliates, officers, employees, contractors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or academic outcomes arising from your use of the Service.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we may notify you through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
